The thermal conductivity of copper-nickel alloy is close to that of carbon steel, the thermal expansion coefficient is close to that of austenitic stainless steel, and the melting point is 1149 °C. Copper-nickel alloy UNSC70600, commonly known as cupronickel, has excellent seawater corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, and is widely used in seawater cooling piping systems for offshore platforms.
